In practice that means a large video file moves in a fraction of the time a mechanical drive would take, and noticeably slower than an NVMe drive that costs several times more. Real speed also depends on your own port and cable.
Which capacity should I choose?
512GB suits documents, a phone photo library and a few projects. 1TB is the sensible middle if you shoot photos regularly or keep video around. 2TB is for people already running out of space on a 1TB drive. The drive itself is identical at every capacity.
What does it work with?
Windows, macOS, Android and games consoles that accept USB storage, over a USB-C port. It is plug and play with nothing to install. If your computer only has USB-A ports you will need a USB-C to USB-A cable or an adapter, which is not included.
Does it need its own power supply?

Is it a backup?
