How do I choose a size?
Chest decides it. S fits an 11.0 to 15.0 in chest with a 9.4 in neck, M 14.6 to 18.5 in with 11.8 in, L 16.5 to 22.0 in with 13.8 in, XL 18.1 to 24.0 in with 14.6 in. Reference weights run of about 3 to 5 lb at S up to 13 to 16 lb at XL, and notes a 2 to 3 percent measurement variance.
Will it stay on?
Yes. It closes twice: a wide hook-and-loop panel over the back that takes the load across the whole vest, plus a side-release buckle underneath it. Get the hook-and-loop firm and level and it holds shape on a dog that twists and backs up.
Will it hold my dog securely?
Yes. The lead clips to a metal D-ring rather than to fabric, the buckle is a side-release that stays shut under load, and the padded panel spreads the pull across the chest instead of pinching the throat the way a collar does. If your dog leans into the lead, take the next size up: the band sits wider across the chest and the whole thing feels steadier in your hand.
Is the leash included?
Yes. A matching flat lead, 43 in long and 0.6 in wide, comes with every harness.
Will a cat accept it?
More readily than most harnesses, because it does not go over the head. Let the cat wear it indoors for a few short sessions before clipping a lead to it, and expect the first outdoor attempts to involve a lot of sitting still.
How do I wash it?
Hand wash cold and air dry. Close the hook-and-loop before washing so it does not collect fur, and do not tumble dry: heat is what kills the grip on the closure.
