The Legs And Belly Come Home Soaked

A coat covers the one part of a small dog that stays reasonably dry. It is the legs and the underside that drag through slush and come back caked, and it is the legs and underside you are towelling at the front door every single day. The Snowva covers all four.

A full-body suit in three layers, waterproof windproof outer, hollow-fiber fill, warm liner, with an elastic cuff on every leg so snow stays outside instead of packing into the fur. A padded back zip that will not catch, and two metal D-rings so the lead clips straight to the suit.

Snowva Full Body Dog Snowsuit, how to unpack and set it up

  • All Four Legs Covered: Legs and belly stay dry, which is the part of a small dog that actually gets soaked in snow.
  • Three Layers: Windproof waterproof outer, hollow-fiber fill, warm liner against the dog.
  • Elastic Cuffs: Each leg ends in a stretch cuff, so snow cannot work its way up inside the suit.
  • Double D-Rings: Two metal rings on an external chest strap, so the lead clips to the suit with no harness underneath.
  • Padded Zip: An inner flap behind the zip, so it never catches fur going on or off.
  • Seven Sizes: Chest 11 to 21 in, for dogs under 5 lb up to 25 lb.

Perfect for the small dog who comes home soaked underneath

Ask anyone with a Yorkie or a Dachshund about February and they will describe the same ritual: the towel by the door, the twenty minutes, the wet dog on the sofa anyway. A four-leg suit takes longer to put on than a coat and it is the only thing that actually ends that ritual. Once it is on, the walk finishes with a dog you can let straight through the house.

No towel routine at the door.

Your Questions, Answered

Snowva Full Body Dog Snowsuit, close-up of the main features

How do I choose a size?

Measure the chest at the widest point behind the front legs, then the neck and the back length from the base of the neck to the base of the tail. Chest decides the fit. Sizes run 11 in chest at 10# through 21 in at 22#, with a fit-weight guide of under 5 lb up to about 25 lb. Allow a 1 inch variation, so size up between two.

Will my dog accept a full-body suit?

Some do immediately and some need a few goes. It is more effort than a coat because the back legs have to go through, and a dog that dislikes having its paws handled will find it harder. Do it in stages the first few times and keep it short.

How do I put it on?

Lay it open, front legs in first, then the back legs, then zip along the back and clip the chest strap. The zip has a padded flap behind it so it does not catch fur on the way up.

Can I clip the lead to it?

Yes. Two metal D-rings sit on an external chest strap, so you walk straight from the suit with no harness underneath. The strap takes the load rather than the fabric, and the lead clips where you can actually reach it.

Does it keep the snow and wet out?

Yes. The outer layer is waterproof and windproof, all four legs are covered with elastic cuffs and the back zip closes the whole thing up. Your dog comes in needing a towel on the paws and nothing else.

How do I wash it?

Hand wash cold and air dry. No tumble drying and no ironing, heat damages the water-repellent finish on the outer, which is the point of the suit.

What is in the box?

One snowsuit, in the size and color you choose. No lead and no separate harness.
