How does it warm up without power?
A reflective layer sits under the fleece. Your pet’s own body heat goes down into it, bounces off and comes straight back up, so the spot they are lying in gets warmer the longer they stay. Touch it after ten minutes with a cat on it and you will feel it. Touch an empty one and it is room temperature, exactly as it should be, because it only ever heats the animal on top of it.
How warm does it get?
There is no fixed figure, because it depends: it depends on the animal, the room and how long they have been lying there. It takes the chill off a hard floor rather than acting like a hot water bottle.
Does it need a cable or a battery?
Neither. Nothing to plug in, nothing to charge, nothing to switch off before bed. That is why it goes anywhere the pet goes: the crate, the back of the car, a hotel floor, the caravan, a sofa cushion in a room with no socket near it. Zero running cost, forever.

How do I wash it?
Machine wash it on a cool cycle and air dry it flat. There are no electronics inside, which is one of the practical advantages over an electric pad. Do not tumble dry it on high.
