How far away can I see it?
Far enough to end the guessing. On an unlit field it reads as a moving point of light at a couple of hundred feet, and it stays visible through long grass, hedges and drizzle where a black dog simply disappears. Drivers, cyclists and other walkers pick it up long before they pick up your dog. Keep the lead on near traffic and let the light do the rest.
Is it rechargeable?
No, despite what you may read elsewhere. It runs on a replaceable coin cell. Pull out the insulating tab when it arrives and it is live. There is no cable and no charging port.
How long does the battery last?
Flashing lasts noticeably longer than a steady light. Flashing modes generally last longer than a steady light on any collar of this kind. Switch it off in daylight and it lasts a great deal longer.
How do I choose a size?
Measure the neck where a collar sits and pick the range it falls in: S is 13.8 to 15.7 in, M is 15.0 to 17.7 in, L is 16.1 to 20.5 in, XL is 17.3 to 22.8 in. All four are 0.98 in wide. If you are between two ranges, take the larger.
Can I clip a lead to it?
Yes. There is a metal D-ring on the band. It is a working collar, not a light-up band worn over another collar.
Is it waterproof?
There is a battery in it.
