Both Walks Are In The Dark Now
From November the morning walk and the evening walk both happen under streetlights, and a dark-coated dog on a wet pavement is genuinely hard for a driver to pick out. The Lumira has a reflective stripe down each side that catches headlights, on a padded water-repellent shell that keeps the rain off at the same time.
It zips along the back in one movement, and a metal D-ring sits on the upper back so the lead clips to the coat instead of a harness over or under it. Eight sizes cover a chest from 14.1 to 29.9 inches and dogs from about 3 to 66 pounds, the full chart with back length and neck is in the specifications. Yellow, red, gray or khaki, each with a black lower body.

Why It’s Better

- Headlights Find It First: A reflective stripe runs the length of both sides, so a driver picks your dog out of the dark long before the shape does.
- Rain Runs Off: A water-repellent padded shell, so a wet walk does not end with a heavy soaked coat on the radiator.
- Lead Clips To The Coat: A metal D-ring on the upper back means no harness over the top and none underneath.
- One Smooth Zip: A full-length back zip, so it is on and off in one movement at the door.
- Eight Sizes: Chest 14.1 to 29.9 in, for dogs from about 3 to 66 lb.
- Four Colors: Yellow, red, gray or khaki, each with reflective trim.
Perfect for the walk you do before it gets light
Anyone walking a dog before work in winter knows the feeling of stepping off a curb and realizing a car has not seen either of you. A reflective stripe does not fix that on its own, but it means your dog registers as something moving rather than as part of the dark. The coat happens to also keep the rain off, which is what gets it used every day rather than only when you remember.
Warm, dry and easier to see.

Your Questions, Answered

How do I choose a size?
Measure the chest at the widest point behind the front legs, that decides the fit, then check back length from the base of the neck to the base of the tail. Chest runs 14.1 in at S through 29.9 in at 5XL, and the suggested weight range for each size is in the chart below. Allow a 0.2 to 0.8 in variation, so size up if you fall between two.
How reflective is it?
There is a reflective stripe along each side that returns light from headlights or a torch, so your dog reads as a moving object rather than a dark shape. It is a visibility aid, not safety equipment, it does not replace a lead, a light or paying attention at the roadside.
Does it keep the rain off?
Yes. The padded shell is water-repellent, so rain beads up and rolls off and your dog stays dry underneath for a normal walk. Shake it out when you get in and it is ready to go again.
What is the D-ring for?
Clipping the lead straight to the coat, so you do not need a harness over the top or underneath. One thing goes on, the lead clips to metal on the upper back, and the pull spreads across the padded shell instead of bunching it.
Does it cover the legs?
No. It covers the back, chest and sides and leaves the legs and most of the belly free. Sleeveless coats get worn; full-leg suits usually get refused.
How do I wash it?
Hand wash cold and air dry. No tumble drying and no ironing, heat damages the water-repellent finish and dulls the reflective stripe.
What is in the box?
One coat, in the size and color you choose. No lead and no harness.
