How do I choose a size?
Approximate chest sizing: S 9-13 in, M 13-16 in, L 16-19 in. S suits a kitten, a very small cat or a young puppy, M an average adult cat or a Yorkie, L a large cat, a Maine Coon or a small breed such as a Bichon. Measure the chest at the widest point just behind the front legs. If your animal sits between two sizes, add the measurement in your order notes and we will match it for you before it ships.
Will my cat get out of it?
Far less easily than a collar. A collar sits on the neck and a cat can reverse straight through it; this closes as a band round the ribs behind the front legs, which is the part of a cat that does not taper. Get the band snug, two fingers underneath, and it holds its shape while your cat works out what walking on a leash means.
Is the leash really included?
Yes. Every set ships with a matching flat nylon leash and a silver snap hook, so there is no second purchase and nothing to match up later.
How does it go on?
Front feet through the two armholes, bring the band up over the back, close the buckle. Five seconds once you have done it twice, and nothing passes over the head or the ears at any point.
Will it fit a rabbit or a puppy?
Both. A rabbit measures the same way a cat does, and a young puppy of a small breed usually starts in S and moves up a size as it fills out. Measure round the ribcage just behind the front legs.
How do I wash it?
Hand wash cool with a little mild detergent and lay it flat to dry. The padding keeps its shape that way, where a machine and a hot dryer would flatten it.
Why this rather than a collar and leash?
