I have a cat. Can I use essential oils in it?
Check with your vet first. Many common essential oils are toxic to cats, tea tree, eucalyptus, citrus, peppermint, pine and ylang ylang among them, and cats cannot metabolize them the way people do. Birds are more sensitive again. Plain water is completely fine in this unit and is what we would use in a home with a cat or a bird. If you do diffuse anything, run it in a ventilated room the animal can walk out of.
What does it do to the air?
It puts moisture back into it. Dry indoor air is what leaves you with a scratchy throat, a blocked nose and a static shock off the door handle every winter, and this pushes a cool ultrasonic mist back into the room all evening. Add a drop of oil and the same mist carries the scent with it.
How long does a tank last?
It has a 250 ml tank size but no mist output rate, so it varies with the setting. It is a small tank: expect an evening rather than a night.

What water should I use?
