Reflective Needs Something To Reflect
A reflective strip works when headlights hit it. In an unlit park at six in December there are none, so a dark-coated dog thirty feet away is simply gone. The Glowra is a soft silicone tube that emits its own light, evenly, along its whole length.
You cut it to length and charge it over USB. One thing to be clear about before you buy: there is no buckle and no D-ring. A lead cannot be clipped to it. It is a light band worn alongside your dog’s normal collar, not instead of one.

Can I clip a lead to this?
No. There is no D-ring and no buckle on it at all. It is a continuous tube. This is a light band, and your dog still needs its normal collar with the tag and the lead ring on it. Please do not buy this expecting a walking collar.
How far away can I see it?
Far enough to end the guessing. On an unlit field it reads as a moving point of light at a couple of hundred feet, and it stays visible through long grass, hedges and drizzle where a black dog simply disappears. Drivers, cyclists and other walkers pick it up long before they pick up your dog. Keep the lead on near traffic and let the light do the rest.
How do I choose a size?
Approximate chest sizing: S trims to about 14 in · M to about 20 in · L to about 26 in. S suits a cat or a toy breed, M most small and medium dogs, L a Labrador or larger. Measure the chest at the widest point just behind the front legs. If your dog sits between two sizes, add the measurement in your order notes and we will match it for you before it ships.
Does the whole tube light up evenly?
It glows along the full length as a soft continuous band. Because the silicone is translucent and hand-finished, the light has a gentle variation to it rather than the flat look of a plastic panel, which is what makes it read as a glowing line at a distance.
Is it waterproof?
No rating is published Treat it as fine in light rain and not fine in a river. There is a battery in it.
Why this rather than a clip-on light?
