How do I choose a size?

Approximate chest sizing: S 18-24 in, M 24-30 in, L 28-35 in, XL 32-43 in. S suits a spaniel or a border collie, M a labrador or a shepherd, L a rottweiler or a malamute, XL a great dane or a mastiff. Measure right round the ribcage behind the front legs, and put the figure in your order notes if you are between two: we will match it before it ships.

What is the handle actually for?

Close control in the second you need it. A cyclist coming up behind, a vet door, a lift, a narrow sidewalk with a child on it. Your hand goes on the handle and the dog is at your leg immediately, without hauling on the lead or reeling in slack, and because the handle sits over the shoulders you are lifting nothing and choking nothing.

What fits on the MOLLE webbing?

Anything with MOLLE or PALS straps: treat pouches, a collapsible bowl, a water bottle carrier, a light, a folded lead, poop bag rolls. Weave the strap down through the rows and it stays put through a full walk. Patches go on the hook-and-loop panels on both flanks.

Will it hold a dog that pulls?

This is the build for it. The buckles are metal rather than plastic, every load point is X-stitched, and the pull spreads across a full-width chest panel and the shoulder straps at once instead of loading one strap. Clip to the chest ring and a pull turns the dog toward you, which is the quickest way to take the habit out of a walk.

How does it go on?

Over the head once, then two side buckles at the ribs. Four adjustment points, so you set the neck and the girth separately and it stays where you put it, which is what makes it sit properly on a deep-chested dog.

How do I wash it?

Undo the buckles, hand wash cool and air dry. Nylon and the mesh lining both dry quickly; keep it out of a hot dryer so the webbing does not shrink around the stitching.

Why this rather than a cheaper harness?
